I’ve always said it…
… and this whole government shut down business only strengthens my already strong opinion that the majority of people in power don’t give a flying fuck about you and I. Think about it; they are so caught up arguing over the healthcare reform that they have put 800,000 people out of work until they resolve it. It doesn’t even make any logical sense. Reds, blues, it doesn’t matter. They preach that they’re in politics for the betterment of America, but have no qualms about putting nearly one million workers on proverbial “hold” while they decide what’s “best” for the country. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t the best thing for the country be for our leaders to unite or at VERY least be willing to compromise with each other before thoughtlessly halting the income of so many people who have no say in the matter?
The Land of the Free apparently comes with a huge asterisk attached.
While we’re at it, here’s a relevant tune by Mr. Frank Turner that pretty much sums up my views on the subject of politics. Enjoy your day people.
